Storage Tips
1. Store items that you need to access the most towards the front of your unit.
2. Create a center aisle for easier access to all items.
3. When storing tables and other furniture, remove legs and store tabletops and couches on end to save space. If possible, stack dressers and tables top-to-top to save space in your unit.
4. Drain gasoline and oil from any items and/or machines with engines.
5. Common sense and state law determines what items may be stored. Therefore, never store firearms, illicit drugs or drug paraphernalia, perishables such as food, liquids, animals, explosives, flammable liquids and fuels, materials that may be toxic or other items that need a controlled environment.
6. Use trash cans or large bins to store tools such as shovels, rakes, and hoes.
7. Before storing, use protective covers and treat wood surfaces.
8. If storing any metal items, wipe all metal surfaces so that there will not be any rust.
9. Always use high-quality locks to protect your unit. We require cylinder locks, (which are the safest in the industry), and are given to you in the leasing office during move-in. Our cylinder locks come free with our administration fee.
10. Do not set boxes directly on concrete floors; use pallets or skids so that air can flow around and under the items being stored.
